On-farm trials conducted on farmers' fields under IVLP-TAR 19

  1. Chemical weed control in rice

    A total of 12 on-farm trials on chemical weed control in rice were conducted on farmers' fields. Application of Machete @ 3 lit / ha within 1 or 2 days of planting controlled all types of weeds. Farmers appreciated the technology as required number of labourers are not available for weeding.

  2. Application of zinc sulphate against khaira disease in

    Farmers of the area have been facing the problem of khaira disease in rice. To combat this problem, 20 kg zinc sulphated as basal dose was applied in 15 on-farm trials. As a result farmers made aware of this annovation and rice field became free from khaira disease.

  3. Release of Trichogramma against sugarcane borers

    Trichogramma @ 50,000/ha was released in the interval of 10-12 days from July and will be continued up to October on 15 farmers' fields. It has been found very effective in controlling borers of sugarcane. Farmers got aware of this technology in the first time.
